Thanksgiving with the Kohlers

Image
Aidyn, Grandma, Anna & Grandpa Thanksgiving 2018 was celebrated with the Kohlers at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, everyone was able to meet up at a large lakeside cabin to celebrate the holiday.  We also got to celebrate Grandma's birthday, which was November 20. There are definitely some Thanksgiving traditions for the Kohler's at Deep Creek.  First, Grandpa spends the entire weekend fixing various things at the rental property.  Really, the owner should pay Grandpa for staying there as we always leave it better than we found it.  Second, Theresa will re-organize the cabinets.  This usually occurs while cooking Thanksgiving dinner since none of the utensils are ever in a logical place.  Third, Uncle Rod and Uncle Tim spend the entire weekend on a college football marathon.  This year was no exception and they were quite excited to have a large sofa sectional complete with cup holders and recliner features to watch the game

Happy Veteran's Day Grandpa!

Is this Grandma's real height? Anna enjoyed a four-day weekend over Veteran's Day (always a good time to schedule parent-teacher conferences).  Since that was the case, the family decided to catch a flight to Ohio for the weekend to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with Grandma's family.  An added bonus was that everyone could celebrate Veteran's Day with Grandpa. The first stop of the trip was Uncle Tim's house.  Cousin Aidyn got a kitten in the fall and was quite excited to show off Charger.  Joe, who has no great affinity for cats, was greeted by Charger who decided to conduct a full leap onto Joe's chest while he was watching TV.  Joe got a similar greeting the next night at Grandma's house when her new cat also pounced on him.  Somehow, they seem to know...... The rest of the weekend was spent catching up with Theresa's cousins and enjoying a large Thanksgiving meal.  Joe got to try out Grandpa's new high-power, battery-operated leaf blow
