Spring Break & Happy Birthday to Grandpa
The week of March 9 was spring break for Anna. It was a wild week that included things like applying for her college program, coloring her hair and going to the dentist. She did hang out with friends and got to do an overnight road trip to Busch Gardens followed by a stop to see her friend's brother perform in Jesus Christ Superstar in Fredericksburg (Anna will give you her review of that musical). Time flew by and she is back at school for the final 8 weeks.
Theresa headed to Ohio March 14 to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. This included a surprise visit from Uncle Rod and Tim, so it was a full house (the first question from the neighbors was where everyone slept). The family enjoyed breakfast out on Saturday morning. They managed to get a few chores done, including getting the porch furniture out and hanging Grandma's bird houses. It was a weekend of weather extremes that included 80-degree weather, storms, lots of wind, and 30-degree weather. Rod, Tim & Aidyn headed back to Columbus Saturday afternoon and Theresa stayed for the remainder of the weekend.Sunday was a nostalgia day. Theresa met up with a high school classmate and then agreed to join her dad for a visitation at the funeral home for one of his friends, John Kauser. Mr. Kauser's son was also a classmate of Theresa's, so it seemed appropriate to go. As it turned out, this visitation was the place to be in Paulding and a testament to what a pillar of the community Mr. Kauser was. The line was so long that Theresa and her dad had to wait nearly an hour to get through the receiving line (and the line was just as long when they left). They got to see numerous friends, acquaintances, classmates, parents of classmate and even a former teacher. It truly was a reunion. In keeping with the theme of reminiscing, Sunday night Grandpa pulled out the slide projector and slides (there are hundreds of them). Unfortunately, the projector broke but not before looking at some photos of Grandma and Grandpa right after they were married. Some new parts were ordered, and Grandpa and Aidyn will work on repairs during Aidyn's spring break. It was a nice break from the craziness in Washington for Theresa. Stay tuned for the next Ohio adventure. There are 6 houses for sale near Grandma and Grandpa, including the one across the street. Who will their new neighbors be? Will they provide the same level of entertainment as the current neighbors? To be continued...
