Final Vienna Jammers Performance at Viva Vienna & Memorial Day Choir Performance
Anna hung out at Viva Vienna between events, doing a quick t-shirt change for choir and a performance at the Vienna Memorial Day ceremony. The master of ceremonies was Gunner Spafford, otherwise known as her friend Victoria's Dad. Viva Vienna is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Vienna and is their largest fundraiser of the year. This was the 40th year of the festival. The program included a Toast to the Colors (complete with the interpreter in revolutionary war regalia), a reading of the winning Rotary Club essay contest, who happens to be a student at St. Mark, and remarks from the Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (ask Joe about that one). The Madrigals performed the National Anthem and ended the ceremony with America the Beautiful. Unfortunately, Anna was stuck behind yet another tall person and standing on an incline so let's just say good luck finding her in the photo (here is a clue - she is on the left side).
Anna concluded the day with a work shift followed by her very last practice with the Vienna Jammers (they had Ben & Jerry's ice cream as a treat). The Jammers has truly been a happy place and lots of fun for kids and parents (it is always helpful to sign your child up for something they are excited to go to). She has learned much there about music, stage presence when performing, improvising, and just being a good person. She will take these great skills with her as she begins a new chapter.
