Pandemic Week 144: Holiday Videos

Grandma & Mary Lou
The Madison High School holiday choir concert was held on December 17.  There was some question about whether the concert would be held thanks to a potential ice storm and subsequent school day.  Fortunately, it was a false alarm that school (and the concert) went on as planned.  Mrs. Latimer joined us for the evening show.  Anna is part of the Madison Select Singers, an all- female choir.  Here are some of the selections from their group (with apologies for the amateur video):

Jingle Bells

There are a total of 4 choirs and all combined for the grand finale of Auld Lang Syne via (electric) candlelight.  It was a great concert!

The other major event of the week was Theresa's quick trip to Ohio for her Dad's surgery.  He had an overnight hospital stay and is fortunately doing well.  While he was recovering, Theresa also had the opportunity to kick off the holiday baking

Grandpa Assisting with Pinwheels
season with her mom.  Grandma may need to film some new instructional videos on using cookie baking as a form of physical therapy for her arm because she got a workout even before Theresa arrived.  Theresa helped with sugar cookies, along with Grandma's friend Mary Lou.  The real show was watching Grandma make date pinwheel cookies.  These are hard to do and something Theresa has not yet mastered.  Fortunately, there is no direction on how to roll the cookies.  You can check out Grandma's Pinwheel Instructional Video with her trusty assistant Grandpa to see how it's done.

  • Anna passed her driver's course (the written class).  She still has a number of hours of driving to complete along with instructor training.  She is making progress.
  • Theresa started her holiday baking.  Her plans to keep it simple quickly grew to "just one more thing."  At last count, there are 5 different types of cookies and 5 different types of candy treats.
  • The newest Anna Fagella arrived December 15 weighing in at 5 lbs 8 oz.  She is the 6th daughter of Anna's cousin Joey, so now there are two Joe Fagellas and two Anna Fagellas.
  • Anna is not officially on winter break and VERY happy about it.
  • The weather forecasters are excitedly illuding to the possibility of a winter storm over Christmas.  We will see.

Let the Christmas countdown begin!
