Pandemic Week 127: A Photo Shoot in Ohio

After a COVID-19 delay, the Virginia Fagellas finally made it to Ohio for a quick visit to Grandma and Grandpa's from August 14-17.  Cousin Aidyn was also around to join in the visit.  Fortunately, we had some of the nicest weather of the summer with temperatures around 80 degrees.

One of the main activities of the trip was a photo shoot for Anna's 16th birthday.  Grandma has a friend that does photography on the side and agreed to do pictures at a local nature preserve.  We are still waiting for all of the photos, but the initial sample came out great!  Most importantly, Anna had a good time (after a week hiking in the woods, the mosquitos and other assorted bugs at the Black Swamp nature preserve were really not an issue for her).  Stay tuned for more photos.

Our other Ohio activities included the following:

  • Anna and Aidyn enjoyed driving various people around in the golf cart, which one of the neighbors let them borrow.
  • Anna and Aidyn also got to race on Grandma's electric scooter.  They looked like something out of a Seinfeld episode.
  • Both Grandpa and Grandma took Anna out driving, including letting Anna drive the minivan on the highway (she did fine).
  • Theresa at long last had a biking partner with Aidyn, who was happy to ride with her.
  • Anna got to do a little shopping with Grandma at JoAnn fabrics, where she got material for a homecoming dress.  She also found a pattern online and has already started to put it together.  There was also a stop at Kohl's where Grandma was not impressed with the latest teenage styles.
  • We enjoyed lots of garden-fresh vegetables, including tomatoes!

Storm got to vacation at his long-time dog sitters and seemed to have a good time as well. It was a nice trip to end the summer.  Now it is back to school!
