Pandemic Week 109: Easter in New Jersey
Coloring Eggs |
James treated us to a luxury weekend in a gated community. There was plenty of delicious food and entertainment. Everyone had their own distinct bedroom and bathroom. All of the bathrooms included heated toilet seats and heated towel racks (these are luxuries we didn't know we needed). Anna was happy to camp out in her 3rd floor room, which also had a guitar that she was practicing on. Unfortunately, she had homework to do over the weekend, but at least had a different place to work on it. Aunt Mary enjoyed making dinner in the large kitchen, complete with a double oven. Theresa got to try out a piano once owned by John Lenon. Aunt Loren enjoyed her luxurious European baths in the morning. Joe enjoyed the screened in porch and views of the manicured yard and pool. We managed to keep some of the Easter traditions, including making Easter bread (or rather Aunt Mary making bread) and coloring eggs. James even had an egg hunt for Anna on Easter morning. Storm didn't make this trip but rather stayed with his former dog sitters, Sam and Ivy. It was a fun weekend and definitely an Easter to remember.
In other news of the week:
We had painters in for the week to repaint the kitchen, living room, family room, laundry room, and basement. The big change is the basement and painting the 1970s wood paneling. Stay tuned for photos.Easter Bread - Friday was the living stations of the cross. Anna sang in the choir, including a couple of solo pieces.
- The COVID cases are beginning to rise again. There were near daily announcements from the school of cases - the most we've seen. It is not surprising coming back from spring break, but troublesome.
A big thanks to James for inviting us for Easter. We had a great time!
