Pandemic Week 88: Happy Birthday to Grandma!

Happy Birthday Grandma!
Thanksgiving is approaching, which can only mean one thing - it is birthday season!  November is a busy birthday month with Grandma kicking it off on November 20.  Thanksgiving week always means birthdays for Aunt Mary, Aunt Loren and Aunt Lucy with Uncle Rod and Uncle Tim rounding out the month on November 30.  Grandma celebrated her birthday with pizza, flowers, and perfume (not necessarily in that order).  Uncle Rod and Uncle Tim may or may not have remembered her birthday, which means Grandma may or may not remember their birthday....TBD.

In other news of the week:

  • Anna & Theresa tried out a new dentist.  Unfortunately the old dentist no longer accepts our insurance, thus the quest began.  Actually, it took a year to notice that we no longer heard from the dentist, who was always trying to schedule appointments.  All communication stopped (no reminder cards or phone calls.....Theresa finally called and figured out what happened).  The dentist dropped us like a hot potato.  The new dentist seemed nice, but was definitely geared more towards children (we are not recommending her for Joe).  The hygienist seemed fairly new.  On the plus side, no cavities.  We may need to try some other dentists.
  • Theresa had a couple of COVID cases at work, both individuals vaccinated.  Unfortunately another reminder that we are still in the pandemic.
  • Anna had a swim meet on Saturday morning starting at 6:30 AM.  Unfortunately, she missed her first event after realizing that no one was calling names like they do on the summer team.  Lesson learned.
  • Anna went to a birthday party Friday night with her friends that included an outdoor bonfire, a fog machine, a chocolate fountain, and lots of singing.
  • Saturday and Sunday was the return of the Fairfax craft fair at a local high school.  Anna & Theresa stopped by and realized that inflation had also hit the craft fair.  They left with a bag of popcorn.
  • Sunday night was a Turkish dinner  with friends Fefzi & Klara.  These outings are always fun with lots of good food and conversation.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving this week and a trip to New York to see family.  Happy turkey day!
