Pandemic Week 28: Happy 16th Anniversary!

The real gift for Theresa this year was upgrading her home office space. After 6 months of working at home with no end in sight, it seemed time to make some adjustments beyond hunching over a laptop with a 12 inch screen. Joe built a stand-up desk top for her and purchased a 25 inch monitor along with a keyboard and mouse. This will be life altering, not to mention a sign of true love (Theresa is quite excited to try out her new set-up tomorrow). The next step will likely be a trip to the eye doctor (6 months on a small screen has taken its toll).
In other news, the Suburu received a terminal diagnosis from the car mechanic. After unusual noise when accelerating and vibration, it was discovered that the Suburu needs a new transmission. The repair now exceeds the value of the car. Theresa was devastated by this news as she had taken good care of the car with plans to pass it to Anna. She is working her way through the stages of grief (she called Uncle Tim in hopes that he would have another idea, but he only confirmed that the particular model year had issues with transmissions). Meanwhile, there is time to consider options since there really is no need for two cars at the moment.
As for the rest of the week, Anna continued with virtual school, Jammers, and swimming. She also had a virtual girl scout zoom session (her troop is working on their election badge). Sunday was a trip to Claude Moore Park and a farm museum (check it out here). Anna picked the Sunday outing this week and it was an excellent choice. In an effort to mix things up, everyone rotates picking family activities. This weekend included:
- Friday Game Night: Sorry (Theresa's Pick)
- Saturday Movie Night: Remember the Titans (Joe's Pick)
- Sunday Outing: Claude Moore Park (Anna's Pick)
The week ahead marks the end of September and the first Presidential debate. It is going to be a wild one. Happy Fall!
