Spring Break in Mexico!

On the beach in Mexico Each year at spring break time, we debate doing something different.  This year, we decided to be different.....and try a different resort in Mexico.  Right now, we are really hoping that the relationship with Mexico does not deteriorate because we really like to vacation there!  We can get a short, direct flight.  The weather is beautiful.  The people are nice.  The food is great.  The beaches are lovely.  What more could we want? Our experiment with a different resort went well.  The food was excellent.  The pools were great.  The entertainment was fun and included everything from dancing to circus acrobats one night.  We were also able to enjoy other activities, including biking into the local town one day (Theresa was concerned about kidnappings, having read the travel warnings, but everyone made it back to the resort unscathed).  We also were able to kayak, which was fun.  One thing Theresa wanted to try was taking the Hobie Cat out for a sail.  She

Easter with a French Twist - No Foolin

Easter 2018 One of the Easter traditions for the Fagellas is that each year is a bit different.  This year was no exception.  After various scheduling conflicts, it became clear that a get together with the New York Fagellas just was not going to work out this year.  This posed some additional challenges.  Who would Anna color eggs with if her cousins weren't around?  Who would be the Easter bread supplier?  Who would eat the lamb cake?   Where would we eat.  Fortunately we were able to work out some creative options. Anna solved the Easter bread dilemma herself by volunteering to make it.  Her parents were skeptical...this was a large project.  Inspired by Aunt Mary, Anna did make the Easter bread (with a little help from Dad with kneading the dough and making the loaves).  Her efforts yielded A LOT of bread, which we delivered to some surprised neighbors.
