Jammin on Memorial Day

Celebrating 1 year with Storm What better way to celebrate Memorial Day than performing with the Vienna Jammers at the biggest event of the year in Vienna?  That is exactly what Anna got to do as part of the concert series on the Vienna Town Green for the Viva Vienna festival. Viva Vienna is the biggest event in town all year - a carnival with rides, games, food, and exhibitors.  All the kids look forward to it.  All the parents dread it.  You never no what the weather be, but there is always a good chance there will be one 90+ degree day with lots of humidity.  This year it rained periodically the first couple of days but then was sunny and beautiful on Memorial Day.  This meant everyone in Vienna turned out to take advantage of this "must do" event of the year on the last day of the festival. Anna has been planning for weeks to attend.  She was excited to perform on the Town Green - the main concert stage in town.  Her group performed to a packed crowd and had a gre

Grandparents Weekend

Anna, Grandma & Grandpa The first Friday of May is the annual Grandparents Day event at St. Mark.  Once again, Grandma and Grandpa made the trip from Ohio to join in the grandparents day festivities.  Apparently they also brought the rainy, Ohio weather with them. The grandparents day festivities kicked off on Friday morning when all of the grandparents were dropped off at the carpool line with the kids......in the pouring rain.  A major downpour hit at the height of carpool.  Fortunately Anna was dropped off right in front of the door.  The grandparents went to class with the students, where they were able to experience the chaos first hand.  On the plus side, the kids were very well mannered, even offering Grandma a chair and brought snacks for the grandparents.  After some time in the classroom, everyone went to mass.  The grandparents were treated to a breakfast afterwards, followed by the Spring Fling concert (the theme was Disney).  Grandma and Grandpa had a good time a
