A New York Vacation

The summer season is in full swing and vacation time is here. This year, the vacation was coordinated around Ms. Be's vacation and cousin James' high school graduation. The result: a vacation to Shelter Island, New York with a couple of side trips along the way. The trip began with a stop in Wilmington, Delaware at the St. Anthony Italian festival, where Anna met up with her friend Robin (and Mom met her friend Rose). Anna had a fabulous time with Robin on the rides and threw caution to the wind as she hopped on the little ferris wheel with Robin (along with rides on th e airplanes, motorcycles, and teacups). The ferris wheel was their favorite as they opted for a couple of rides. Mom & Dad enjoyed the savory culinary treats, such as Italian sausage, calamari, and delicious cannolis. Grandma....watch me!

Grandma arrived on Saturday to watch Anna for a few days while Ms. Be is on vacation. There was a lot of watching going on as Anna was constantly asking Grandma to watch her do this or that. As always, they had a great time playing. Anna enjoys dancing these days and grandma was able to get a great Anna dance video. Of course Anna insisted on shooting a video of Grandma dancing (no word yet on whether the footage will be available on UTube). Let's just say that Grandma can still get down....but not necessarily up. On Wednesday, Grandma and Anna were playing restaurant in the basement. Anna was the cook and Grandma was the customer. Grandma came over to the bar (yes there is an old bar in the basement) and ordered a drink. Anna whipped out a beer for Grandma....a real one (Dad stores his beer back there). Grandma was a bit surprised and informed Anna that she does not drink beer. Of course Anna asked why not. After a week with Anna, Grandma may consider drinking the beer....
